The SAE 100R17 hydraulic hose is a compact wire braid reinforced rubber hose designed for high-pressure hydraulic applications with tight bend radius requirements. The tube is made of oil-resistant NBR synthetic rubber, reinforced with one or two high-tensile steel wire braids, and covered with oil and weather resistant synthetic rubber. It maintains a constant working pressure of 21 MPa across all sizes, with a significantly tighter bend radius than SAE 100R1 hose. It is widely used as a direct replacement for SAE 100R1AT / EN853 1SN hydraulic hose in construction machinery, agricultural equipment and industrial hydraulic systems with limited installation space.

Q1: What is the difference between SAE 100R17 and SAE 100R1?

Both are compact high-pressure hoses. SAE 100R17 maintains a constant 21 MPa working pressure across all sizes, while 100R1 pressure drops as size increases. 100R17 also has a tighter bend radius than 100R1 and is a direct replacement for 100R1AT.For other compact hydraulic hose options, SAE 100R16 compact hydraulic hose is also available for medium-to-high pressure applications with limited installation space.

Q2: What working pressure can I expect?

Constant 21 MPa / 210 Bar / 3045 Psi across all sizes from 1/4" to 1". Safety factor is 4:1. Every batch is 100% proof pressure tested at 2× working pressure.

Q3: Why does 100R17 use one wire braid for small sizes and two for large sizes?

One wire braid is sufficient to achieve 21 MPa at smaller diameters. For larger sizes, two wire braids are needed to maintain the same constant pressure without increasing the outer diameter excessively.
